Reoxcel Snow absorbable hemostat is a fibrous, sterile hemostatic preparate produced from Oxidized Regenerated Cellulose (ORC) (polyanhydride glucuronic acid). Reoxcel Snow has the same properties as Reoxcel Fibril but the only difference is Reoxcel Fibril is single-layered. Reoxcel Snow absorbable hemostat does not contain any animal-based or collagen additives. Reoxcel Snow absorbable hemostatic agent, which provides versatile use and transparency, can be sutured and cut without fraying. It provides fast haemostasis, ease-of-use and high performance by providing better adaptation and adhesion to the bleeding tissue, expanding the contact area of the bleeding surface. It has stable structure and should be stored at controlled room temperature. It has light yellow colour and slight, caramel-like aroma. Although the colour fades away in time, this does not impact the performance of Reoxcel Snow.

The impact mechanism of Reoxcel Snow absorbable hemostat is independent of the body’s own coagulation mechanism. Reoxcel Snow absorbable hemostat forms a brownish or black gelatinous mass when it comes in contact with blood, which aids clot formation. This gelatine-like mass acts as the physical matrix which the blood platelet can adhere. Hemostasis is created with blood platelet aggregation and blood platelet-fibrin stopper formation. Reoxcel Snow absorbable hemostat is absorbed from the implantation site without tissue reaction when used properly in minimal amounts. Absorption depends on these factors: tissue type, amount of hemostat used and blood satiety level. Reoxcel Snow absorbable hemostat has been proven to have a bactericidal effect in vitro against 40 types of Gr (+) (gram positive) and Gr (-) (gram negative) microorganisms.
